The incident led to the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A young child was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
